An interview with Georgiana Huddart

In your words, tell us about yourself:
I am very tall, have lots of brothers and sisters and design crinkly swimwear.
Tell us about Hunza G:
It started in my dressing up box aged 5… we had a vintage piece I sewed to make my brother wear. When I was 20 I re found the fabric and fell in love with it all over again, it seemed like the perfect item of clothing- flattering, one size, unique and ridiculously comfortable. I became obsessed and that’s how Hunza G began…. It took 5 years of dipping in and out of trying to start a company and then I met Peter Meadows the original Hunza man.
What are three words you would use to describe your brand?
Inclusive, unusual, empowering
What was the inspiration behind your latest collection?
The 80’s, heritage Hunza, Neon raves and ‘saved by the bell’
Looking ahead, do you have anything you are really excited about for Hunza G?
The kids collection- Hunza Baby G
What 3 things inspire you at the moment?
The amazing direction that fashion editorials have taken with inclusivity and raising awareness on really important topical issues around gender, mental health, the environment, sustainable production, diversity, equality (in all aspects of our lives)- it doesn’t matter how these issues are promoted as long as they are…. In my opinion.
Where is your favourite beach destination?
Xucla in Ibiza
What book do you recommend we add to our reading list?
I really enjoyed the sally Rooney books, especially Normal People
What is your beach bag essential?
What is your top beach beauty tip?
Minimal makeup and fuss, basic jewellery that you can swim in- I think people look very strange in a full face of makeup, platform heels and tonnes of jewellery on a beach.
My desert island essential is…
Vodka Martinis…. I really love them- but now I sound like someone from Ab Fab. So if not that then my music.
