Firstly, tell us a little about the brand....
I started Paolita back in 2010 in order to create a beach lifestyle brand which empowers women by allowing them to choose shapes and designs that make them feel beautiful, comfortable and have the highest quality, design and fit.
What or who inspires you, and why?
People who try to achieve the highest standards in their passions regardless of their field of work inspire me greatly.
What was the inspiration behind your newest collection?
I was inspired greatly by the incredible museums in London, I trawled though several archives and ended up with the collection you see today. Whatever research I do comes out in the prints I design.
What is your favourite piece from your recent collection and why?
My absolute favourite bikini is the Louise Brooks bikini, named after one of my favourite style icons. The colours on this piece are completely luminescent and just look incredible when worn. Also I particularly love the fit of this bikini. The top fits beautifully in all sizes and is our best selling shape.
Do you have anything in the future you are really excited about for your brand?
I am always excited about the future of the brand. Each new collection that I design is such an incredible experience and I always try to find new ways of making it fun and sexy, beautiful and interesting. I sometimes hide little stories or characters in the prints that only if people pay close attention they can see them.
What is the one piece of advice you would give to anyone who is starting up their own fashion brand?
Love what you do every day.
Where are your favourite beaches or pools around the world and why?
I can safely say that I am much more of a beach person than a pool person. I just love open water and feeling sand on my feet. My favourite beaches are in Tulum in Mexico and in Mykonos in Greece.
What are your beach bag essentials?
I have a few essentials. My towel, my sunblock, my hat and my sunglasses!
What is your own signature beach style?
I am the ultimate Paolita girl. I always dress from head to toe in my brand. I usually mix and match prints. For example I wear a different printed bikini to my kaftan and different printed sandals. Everything clashes in quite a nice way. I always wear a hat and earrings, which I take off when I swim. When the sun is strong I will wear quite an itty bitty bikini and as it sets, I will change into a full suit.
And finally, do you have any top tips for staying stylish by the beach and if so, what is it?
Wear your swimwear with confidence and make sure you feel comfortable in it and it fits well. I also find it a lot more elegant when flats are worn instead of heels. Make sure your hands and feet are clean and mani/pedicured.
